Wisdom usually refers to knowledge that is gained by having many experiences in life. So later on in life it is said that we are more wise and full of wisdom. Wisdom can be seen as having a wise outlook, more knowledge, discernment, perceptiveness, insight, deeper understanding or having good judgment or common sense. With wisdom, there is more tolerance for the uncertainties of life as well as its ups and downs. There’s an awareness of how things play out over time, and it gives us a greater sense of balance.
Even though wisdom do not depend on age, the more we experience, the more wisdom we gain as we age. We understand people, things, events and situations through better judgments and perceptions usually. As we age we usually have better control of our emotional reactions leading to better actions and outcomes than when we were young.
With wisdom comes an optimism and a calmness about life’s challenges and a deliberate use of wisdom to improve well being and restore balance. There is also the ability to see the bigger picture and considerable introspection. There is a greater interest in spirituality and people with more wisdom act consistent with their ethical beliefs.
